Comedian Charlie Murphy Dead at 57 of Leukaemia

Comedian Charlie Murphy passed away today at a hospital in New York. Most know the comedian as the brother of actor and comedian Eddie Murphy, whom Charlie once worked for as a personal bodyguard. The comedian had since went on to establish his own respectable acting and comedic career, most notably, appearing as a regular contributor to the hugely popular Dave Chappelle Show.

In a released statement to the Hollywood Reporter, the Murphy family wrote that their “hearts are heavy with the loss today of our son, brother, father, uncle, and friend charlie.” They remarked that “Charlie filled our family with love and laughter and there won’t be a day that goes by that his presence will not be missed. Thank you for the outpouring support.” His acting and comedic cohorts offered their thoughts and condolences.
